Description

This course is a great introduction to crochet, or specifically hand crochet, where you will learn to crochet with your hands rather than with a crochet hook. In this course students will learn the basics of crochet while making a cozy throw blanket. At the end of this course you have mastered some basic crochet stitches, such as the chain and single crochet stitch, and you will have a thick and cozy blanket to take home with you – perfect for those long winter nights ahead.

What you will need for the class:
You will be asked to provide your own yarn for the project, so you can choose the color of your blanket yourself and personalize it to your own taste/color palette of your home for instance.
For the blanket you will need 2400g (960m) of yarn in total. The yarn should be at least 5mm thick, meaning it should be size 5 or bigger. If you are searching online, this type of yarn is often referred to as chunky or bulky.
Tips on where to purchase the yarn wil be provided in an e-mail when you purchase the workshop 🙂

About Hannah
Hannah is an American fiber artist based in Amsterdam. She has an undergraduate degree in fine arts from the US, and although her career led her to the corporate world, she spends all of her time outside of work either creating art or thinking about creating art. Her favorite techniques include macrame, weaving, pottery and crochet but she also loves jewelry making and sewing. She recently opened her own business, Tethered Twine, and started selling her artwork on her webshop. In January she will be teaching the crochet blanket workshop in which students can learn to make their own blanket like the one pictured in this photo.

*Aim is to finish the whole blanket during the workshop. If by any chance the process is going a bit slower, Hannah will make sure that she explains you all the steps for fishing.
