Fall is in our sight and this means we start thinking about wearing warmer clothes. It is too early to take our normal mittens out of the closet, so we will knit our own ‘wrist mittens’ at De Steek!
Theodorus Johannes researched Dutch traditional dress to create new garments, based on traditional designs and techniques. He created this basic workshop in which you can learn to make your own ‘wrist mittens’ with beads, inspired by the ‘polsmofjes’ of Volendam and Bunschoten/Spakenburg. In this one-day workshop you will learn to knit with a circular knitting needles, learn to add beads and you will create the wrist mittens of your own style. Both beginners and more advanced knitters are welcome.
