De Steek goes digital! Now that the Sewing Cafe is closed because of corona, we don’t want to stop sewing. So we made a schedule for the upcoming period with a few online workshops which you can follow live (or afterwards) on Instagram. Here the upcoming program:

Wednesday November 11:
19.30 – 20.30 Upcycle Hour with David Pronker
Ask all your ucpcycle-questions to David in this live-Q&A-moment! Want to alter your vintage piece? Or repair your clothes in a nice way? Ask fashion designer David! (Live on Instagram, free to join)

Saturday November 14:
11.00 Lingerie Sew-a-long with Leanne: Basic Undies
Live sewing workshop with lingerie expert Leanne from Lunar Laces! In this session Leanne will show you how you can construct a simple underpants. You just need the pattern & materials and you’re good to go!
Purchase and download the pattern.
Purchase a sewing kit with the materials.
*You can also join this workshop with your own materials and pattern. Make sure you have 0,3m of woven fabric (not too thick), 2,10m elastics (1cm wide), a small piece of jersey for the gusset and matching sewing thread.

Saturday November 14:
14.00 Sew-a-long with Natalie: flared leggings
Live sewing workshop with fashion designer Natalie! Print the pattern, glue the pages together, source the materials and go! (Live on instagram, free to join). If you don’t have the pattern of materials yet, get it here:

*You can also join this workshop with your own materials and pattern. Make sure you have 1,3m of stretchy fabric, 0,90m elastics (2cm wide) and matching sewing thread.

Wednesday November 25:
18.30 Digital Workshop: Pocket Wallet
Make your own decorative embroidery inspired by Japanese sashiko and turn your unique fabric into a cute wallet with contrast lining! This is a digital workshop via Zoom! You will receive a sewing kit with all the materials you need prior to the workshop. You will get a link to the zoom-meeting in which you can follow all the steps, but also ask questions to teacher Lucinda.
